  • The Hive will have eight yoga and meditation sessions every weekday aimed at adults and young people

  • The Hive is thought to be the UK’s first family-friendly yoga and meditation studio

A brand new yoga studio is set to open off the bustling Walcot Street area of  the city at the start of 2019. The Hive, on Beehive Yard will have up to six adults classes, and two children’s and family sessions each day, as well as weekend events and workshops.

The studio is backed by founder of award-winning Bath-based children’s yoga company YOGADOO, Lucy Aston, and one of the most creative and experienced yoga and sound therapists in the city, Bex Thibault.

The Hive will be the leading space in the city for contemporary yoga and meditation, aimed at everyone from the complete beginner to advanced yogis. Offering a wide range of yoga styles from the very best teachers in the city, The Hive will be the place for anyone wanting to escape the buzz of life, in a modern, peaceful, riverside setting.

With adults classes from early morning-to late evening, there are also two 45-minute lunchtime sessions each weekday. Children’s and Family sessions are carefully timetabled between 4-6pm only, to fit with the school day. The Hive is thought to be the UK’s first family-friendly yoga studio offering daily yoga and meditation classes to children and young people.

The studio will be officially opened by Bath sporting hero, Winter Olympic Gold Medallist Amy Williams, on Saturday 15th December, before opening for a full timetable on Thursday 3rd January.

The innovative studio will offer a healthy mix of yoga, meditation and complimentary well-being workshops, making yoga and meditation truly accessible to everyone.

Founder of children’s and family yoga company, YOGADOO and co-founder of The Hive, Lucy Aston said: “Since our launch in 2016, YOGADOO has taught thousands of young people in over 50 schools and many different communities in Bath and surrounding area. The time has come to settle into a permanent home in the city. The ethos of The Hive is ‘Live, Breathe, Fly’ as despite us all having busy, buzzing lives, this is a place you can come to relax and have time for yourself, whatever your age.”

Co-founder of The Hive, Bex Thibault said: “Our studio will lead the way in offering contemporary and creative adults yoga sessions in a range of different styles. We will also have innovative seasonal workshops at weekends.”

Bex added: “Both Lucy and I are passionate about the planet and we have chosen to create a space which is as environmentally friendly as possible.  Each member of The Hive will receive a "seed bomb" to plant, which will grow flowers to attract bees to the area.
